Meet ARYA!

If you’ve spent some time around here you know that my love for dog rescue started with this gal! I adopted Arya in July 2020 when she arrived on a plane from Mexico. Arya was born on the street, picked up by a local than dumped at the shelter a year later, where she spent 5 months before finally making her way to Canada.

Arya is one of a kind, and while she has her quirks, I wouldn’t change a thing about her. She has been a foster sister to 9 other Mexican pups so far, and is really my other half.

Arya loves: her people, beef liver, puzzle toys, pets, belly rubs, her cousins, being silly, chasing balls, cuddling, popcorn, squirrels and wildlife, supervising (she is the best supervisor and must know what is going on)

Arya dislikes: horses, strangers, other dogs (until she gets to know them!), pet stores, vet office, baths, the elevator, fire alarms

Arya is a total mutt and her resemblance to a mini horse has given her the nickname of “horsey girl”. She is loyal, silly, fast, smart, clumsy, brave and affectionate.

It is because of Arya that I now volunteer with DIBS Rescue, and have become a self titled crazy dog lady! 🐶
